Hello awesome SLPs and SLP related professionals!!!! It's Coach April here with a photo to share with you!!!! These two "partners in crime" have gone to many different settings with the staff and me and regardless of the setting, they are well-liked............sometimes even more than us! Certainly, these are an instant hit with the pediatrics, but did you know we have gotten more from dementia and Alzheimer's patients with these two characters? So many memories about how clothing was made in the early 1900s, quilting patterns, and other cognitive-language tasks that develop from patients looking at "The Old Lady (Who Swallowed a Fly)." *Sidebar: Yes, the doll comes with all of the animals that she ate in the story and you can stuff them into her belly!* When patients look at "This Old Man," they often talk about their years in farming, tending to a garden, and even the types of farming hats that their family members wore! These two are a MUST HAVE for any therapist!
